Unboxed: Momax iPower Xtra

I have a love-hate relationship with my iPhone. I love how convenient it is to have everything at my fingertips, but I hate how an hour after unplugging it from its charger, I'm left with 20% battery life and scrambling for a socket for a re-charge. Sure, the iPhone's battery life isn't as long as the prehistoric Nokia 5110, but then the 5110 didn't have 3G, or people mooching off their personal hotspot (looking at you, Jericho!), or Facebook.

I had tried other USB charger brands, shelling out as much as P4,000 for one that I was pretty sure would do the trick of keeping my iPhone alive, awake, and enthusiastic for when I have to be mucking around all day, but to no avail - the cords were too flimsy or my USB port wouldn't detect the charger after a few month's use, or the big battery thing would start leaking a probably dangerous liquid from its butt.

Which is why I love the fun-looking Momax iPower Xtra (P2,450). Not only have I been getting jealous glances from friends and strangers, demanding I tell them where I bought this cute charger, this has actually lasted for quite a while in my care, and I gen get up to two full charges with one use.

It's a fairly simple contraption, really, but it's been put together quite well I don't have to worry about flimsy cords or leaks. Built with 6600mAh it guarantees long-lasting power, and I can get up to two full charges with a little bit more to spare when I'm out all day. The charger comes with a Micro USB to USB cable, which works with any USB port or your Apple's charging adapter. You'll notice the iPower Xtra just comes charging cables, nothing more. I use my iPhone chord and connect it to the USB port to charge my phone. So really, it's less of a hassle since you're using a cable you use everyday anyway, which is far more sturdy than what you'd usually get.

I love how this health drink charger is so cleverly designed! Unlike most battery chargers, this isn't made out of some kind of metal your keys end up scratching when it's clunking around in your bag, but some sort of high-grade plastic. You flip the cap to expose the USB ports when you charge, with a string of blue lights letting you know when it's fully charged, as well as how much juice is still left. You can make it light up by pressing the small button on the side.

So, when you're mucking around Manila or wherever it is you'll be going off to, keep your iPhone or iPad alive with Momax's iPower Xtra! Not only is this specifically made for Apple products, but aside from the super cute packaging, it'll last longer than most brands, too!
