The Convenience of SM's e-PLUS Card

I visited SM Southmall for the first time in a long time last December and I was floored. Gone was the cramped, overcrowded mall with the boring, outdated stores and a grocery store that reeked of raw meat. No, this Southmall was spacious, filled with fresh, modern brands with the likes of Aldo, Terranova, and La Senza, with a food strip outside that slightly resembled Serendra, and a cinema that required a card to gain access to the movie house.

I heard about the e-PLUS card from a friend who works at SM, and this piqued my curiosity. I like the idea of pre-loading one card and using it to buy movie tickets and snacks is such super convenient. So when I found myself at the Mega Mall with Jericho, we signed up for e-PLUS and watched Iron Man 3 for free.

What do you need to do? Simple.
  1. Look for the ePLUS booth located at most (if not all) SM branches or online at smcinema.com.
  2. Pay P300 for the starter kit, fill up your information, and patiently wait for your card to be printed out. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. The started kit already comes with a complimentary movie pass, a large popcorn and soda, and an SM premium item. I got a handy water bottle.
  3. Validate your mobile number after registration to get your complimentary movie pass.
  4. Expect to get lots of e-PLUS special offers from SM!

We haven't used our meal coupon yet, but we'll probably use it to watch the Great Gatsby over the weekend. Reload your e-PLUS card using P500 or P1,000 denominations and get a free upsize on your drink and meal credits at Snack Time with every reload.

SM has reinvented itself over the past few years while nobody was looking and has transformed from a masa mall into a force to be reckoned with - their newest project, Aura is a testament to that. I'm looking forward to reserved seating and buying seats online soon!

When mucking around Manila, why not rediscover an SM nearest you?
